Detrailers

Our Story

Purpose-built since 1988

We've been building wash systems since before there was an internet to sell them on. Here's how we got here, and why it matters for what we build you.

We've been building systems actively since the '90s, but our very first system was built in the late '80s. So needless to say, we know what we're doing — but more importantly, we understand what youwant to do. We've helped thousands of people get started, and we build more systems for more types of applications and purposes than any other manufacturer.

At DETRAILERS, it's not about making every single dollar we can — it's about helping people get started. We were once there ourselves, and we understand the hurdles of getting started.

How we got here

1988

Designed and developed one of the first mobile car wash/detail setups while working with previous company Every Last Detail. At that time, no companies sold systems like that.

2000

Started building high-PSI pressure washing setups and shipped the very first unit out of state. Now our systems are in every US state and several other countries.

2005

Designed and built our Dominator and Tri-Brid systems, both first-to-market concepts.

2006

Developed and improved truck (big rig) wash systems.

2009

Designed spot-free setups that can be integrated into any system.

2014

Started building soft wash setups and integrating them with existing systems to create industry-first hybrids.

What we build

We build the system to fit the customer, not the customer to a few units. Every system is custom-tailored to what you're actually using it for.

How the process works

1

Our first conversation may be the most important part of the entire process. We discuss your needs, wants, budget and expectations, so we build you the perfect system for your new venture without paying for anything you don't need.

2

We design out your system and send you a full build sheet listing exactly what we'll be building. We usually go through a few drafts with changes or additions to get it right.

3

We discuss the financial side and set up your deposit. All systems are built to customer order, so you get exactly what you need and a brand new system, not one that's been sitting for months or years.

4

Your system is done. Whether you're picking it up or we're shipping it to you via flatbed carrier, it arrives ready to work, and we make sure your vehicle is ready to tow it.

5

You start the business, and we coach you the whole way. We cover a lot during the build, and now you're ready to hit the ground running.

Trailer or truck mount?

It depends on your needs, wants and budget. We'll talk through it in our first conversation, but most people overestimate how big these rigs actually are.

Tested before it ships

Every system is leak tested, every fitting and connection checked, and every unit run to make sure it operates as intended before it's ever picked up or loaded for transport.

Built in Texas & California

Denton, TX; Fort Worth, TX; and our new facility in Newbury Park, CA. Where your system is built depends on your location.

Experience that goes worldwide

We were once proud to build for local customers in Southern California. Then we put our systems on the internet and sold our first one out of state, to Gaylord, Michigan. Since then, orders have gone out to Hawaii, Greece, Puerto Rico, Kuwait, Turks and Caicos, and more. We truly are worldwide, even if we don't mention it much — we figure a lot of people wouldn't believe it.

Stories from the road

Boston, MA · Soft Wash

How we found out about soft washing

We were contacted in the summer of 2004 by a customer, Dave P., located in Boston, Massachusetts. At the time we were based solely in Southern California. We spoke about building him an enclosed, hot/cold pressure washing trailer to clean buildings with. We built it, shipped it across the country, and flew out for a weekend to train him on the unit in person.

We stayed in touch over the years, and around 2013 he told us about a weird new system he was using for cleaning buildings — one that involved bleach. It turned out Dave was one of the first people to tell us about soft washing. From there we watched it take off: word ran down the Eastern Seaboard, then Georgia, then Florida, and now we get calls from all over the country from people wanting to start a soft wash business.

Dave is still doing it, and still killing it.

Gaylord, MI · Mobile Wash

Our first out-of-state customer

For a while we were content building systems locally. Then we put up a website, and Kim S., an ex-snowmobile racer in Gaylord, Michigan, found us and said there was a serious need for the service in her town. We designed a versatile system for her, shipped it in the middle of winter — our first-ever out-of-state shipment — and flew out to train her in person, snow on the ground and all.

She originally set out to do parking lots and storefronts, but landed an account to clean all the trash bins in town, which alone was enough to keep her busy. Two years later she called to order a second unit and add staff. She's still doing well today.
